2013-14 Hindi registration

Dear parents,
While registering for CMH Hindi, pl pick for your child as level 2.
I will be teaching with Vishal.

As you known this is a volunteer run organization. Without volunteers we will not be
able to provide the best service. We are looking for Hindi teacher to volunteer.

childrens answer papers (:

Dear parents,
While co-coordinating for Hindi Utsav ... did not get time to hand back the children answer papers.
In Bal Utsav day will try to locate the children / parents to give back the answer sheet.

Today's performance by our class was nice...and I feel proud of them...
Shalini was the lead, who identified the poem and taught the kids...
They also enjoyed practicing during the class....

Pl consider volunteering for Hindi class.
We are planning to have some workshops and it will be nice to have more people trained.
You can join the main force of volunteering when you feel your are ready... (even after many years ......)

Pl have your kids practice once a week (one hour at least).. Else they will forget all that they have learned by Sept

May 4th : last class update

Dear parents,
May 4th we had the final exams.
I correct all the papers today.
70% of kids have done well, scoring  above 70%.
Greater than 20 out of 30.

For the other kids, they need to practice.
Most of them lack in consonants and this is what slowed down the class room progress for last few weeks.
Next year, curriculum will be learning matras, and knowing consonants is a "MUST".
So if you want your child to continue to next level, then before Sept you need to work with them.
Else they will repeat the same grade level.

Thank you all for bringing in snacks. I am sure the kids had a great party time.

On May 11th the kids will first go to their class room.
They will collect the exams papers and will go to assemble hall for Hindi Utsav.
They will be seated with their class teachers.

Hindi Utsav will start from 3:05pm to 4:30pm
We request you to stay with your kids until all the performance are over

Class update and announcment

Dear parents,
We are having test every week and many kids are doing good... but some needs to put in extra effort.
This is the last week where they need to put extra effort.
I want parents to remind them each day to study.
They will tested on all vowels and consonants. 

Thanks for the snack sign up... Will meet at 3:45pm outside and setup a table.
Can some one take initiative to setup and clean up please ?





May 4: Final Exam. All vowels, consonants, and 2 letter words. Party Time 3:45pm to 4:30pm

May 11:Hindi Utsav 3pm to 4:30 pm in Cafeteria  at Washington High.

Hindi Utsav: All class room students will participate. Our class will perform by reciting some poems taught by Shalini.

For next year, if registering  for Hindi then select  level 2

Important announcements:

Every week will start class with a quiz for 10 min. Have kids a paper and pencil ready.

Also will practice poem at the end of the class, for Hindi Utsav.

March 30. April 6 & 13: Weekly Quiz

March 30: Quiz on All vowel अ आ इ ई :::: अं अः

April 6: Quiz on क ख ग घ.. to  त थ द ध न

 

April 13: Quiz on प फ ब भ म and य र ल व श ष स ह

April 20 : No class (Om Run event)

April 27:Pre Final Exam. All vowels, consonants.

May 4: Final Exam. All vowels, consonants, and 2 letter words. Party Time 4pm to 4:30pm

May 11:Hindi Utsav 3pm to 4:30 pm in Cafeteria  at Washington High.

Hindi Utsav: All class room students will particpate. Our class will perform reciting some poems.
Planning to have a party for the kids on May 4th at 4 pm outside.
Need parent particiation to arrange for food,drink and other arrangment.

Dear parents,
Continuing revising consonants.

Found that students are still not very clear with difference b/w

 ट ठ  to  त थ  etc.,.

Last week, test paper were return back.
Take a look to see where your child stand.
We expect students to know all the alphabets.

Dear parents,
Quiz day on consonants today ...
Found that most kids have to prepare more... Many kids known only first two line well.
So I feel, they need to work more ...

Started again revising again from

Will spend next few week revising...

Dear parents,
Wanted to give a change to the kids from learning letters..
So taught  names of animals, birds ..revise body parts and counting.

Few more words & blending with what alphabets we have learned so far.
Had few 3 letter words.. like जगत

Test on 2/23 on consonants we have learned so far.  
क ख ग ..... to  त थ.... न

Dear parents,
Revised all the consonants learned so far.

Learn simple words which have vowels and the consonants learned so far.
Like आठ आम आप धन etc...
Will do these few more weeks.. while learning new consonants.

Dear parents,
Revised the ट ठ ड ढ ण 
Started with the next line त थ द ध न.
Had many words for each of the alphabets.
Since there is difference in the above 2 lines pronunciation  and  kids "here" (US) don't really 
get the difference, spend good amount of time.
I am not sure if they digested fully... Will repeat during the next few weeks as well.
Hats off to Sumeet.. his teaching is very effective and his class room management..I have to learn.
He ran the show...

HW: च छ ... to  द ध न. Write 5 times.
Test 2: Feb 9 for all alphabets learned so far.

Revised all the consonants and more emphasis on ट ठ ड ढ ण 
Provided more word examples. for all consonants from क ...


HW is to write च छ..... to  ण four times.

Since we are learning new alphabets, pl ensure kids do their HW.

Dear parents,
The kids had the first quiz on all vowels.
Most kids were looking forward for this.. and had prepared...and excelled
As you understand knowing alphabets is the key.
Will have the results in next week.
I have noticed a few kids, who do not known alphabets... Pl work with your child.

I was off most of the time last week as we had invited guest teacher to train the Hindi teachers.
This week also, we might have another guest teacher.. and I will be busy during 3 to 4 pm.

Vishal and Sumeet  handle the class last week.. and they really rock the class. The kids are used to them.. and there is transition is smooth.. They should be no worries...

Meanwhile, interested parents consider volunteering... You can attend the teachers training and get your skill sharpened...

Dear parents,
Class resumed after winter break.
Most of the kids were ready for the quiz... which is very good. There were atleast 25% kids who had not prepared...
I want all of them to prepare...
So will have the quiz on Jan 12th.

Revised all the vowels...

Revised  क to ञ.
Learned the next set of 5 consonants: ट ठ ड ढ ण

If there are any parents, who are interested to volunteer to teach, pl write back.
I am looking for parents for even next year.
As you known this is a volunteer driven organization.
